Metro Fire & Arson Investigators Association
December 2011 Newsletter

Hello my fellow fire investigators and welcome to fall in New England where you can expect wind driven-rain, snow and temperatures in the 70’s… all in the same week.  I hope everybody is surviving this bizarre weather.

The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday December 6 in Wilmington.  The meeting will be held at Ristuccia Rink (the Bruins training facility) 190 Main St.  The election of officers will take place at the meeting.  If you know that you are not going to be there, please contact the election coordinator, Peter Bramante, in advance for an absentee ballot.

I’d like to thank Gregg Williams from HUD who filled in as a guest speaker at the last minute and made a very interesting presentation.  I know several investigators have already contacted him and utilized him as a resource in on-going investigations.  It’s just one more tool in the toolbox.  Thanks also goes out to Justin Peledge for coordinating the use of the facility in Wakefield.

We have started putting together a meeting and training schedule for 2012.  Some locations and speakers have been scheduled however we are still in need of locations for February, March, May and November.  There are several potential hosts pending, but if you or your agency would like to host a meeting please contact either Joe DiFranco or I.  We are also open to any future training ideas.  We’ll help find the presenter if you give us an idea of what topics you’d like to hear about.

Lastly, if you are interested in receiving group texts from the organization please contact Justin Peledge.  He has established a group text account and can add you to it.  All he needs is you cell phone number and service provider.

That’s it for this month.  I hope you all have a happy Thanksgiving.  I’ll see you in Wilmington.

Donny
